For the first time, the Athletics Centre at St Joseph’s Nudgee College played host to the Junior GPS Track and Field Championships in 2019.
More than 360 promising young athletes grasped the opportunity to showcase their talents, enjoy a day of healthy competition, and demonstrate the legendary GPS Spirit of Fellowship.
St Joseph’s Nudgee College took the 2019 Junior GPS Championship honours, and Director of Sport and Activities, Anthony Connellan commented, “St Joseph’s Nudgee College was honoured to host the 2019 Junior GPS Track and Field Championships. The event was a great success and gave our 10-12 year old boys an opportunity to compete at a quality facility with a carnival atmosphere. We are very proud that they rose to the occasion and won the Junior GPS Championships.
All of the competitors and spectators really enjoyed being close to the action and cheering on their mates. Congratulations to athletes from all GPS Member Schools for their spirit of fellowship and a great day of competition.”
Ipswich Grammar School came in second place with Anglican Church Grammar School in third.
Nine Junior GPS records were broken on a wonderful day, which saw passionate supporters from across the nine GPS Member Schools cheering on their teams.
