Churchie named GPS Chess Premiers for the Second Consecutive Year

A competitive Centenary season of chess culminated in a thrilling Premiership final, with Churchie collecting the Premiership title for the second year in a row.

Churchie Director of Chess, Max Condon commented “This has been a jubilee year for chess at Churchie, with more boys playing at a better level, in a consistent style, and on a broader platform than ever before.”

Players from across the nine GPS schools showed exceptional skill throughout the season, and many games were intense and hard-fought.

Gregory Terrace and Brisbane Boys’ College share second place in what was a great season of top quality competition.
