Strength, skill and determination were hallmarks of the 2019 GPS Gymnastics Championships, which was once again held at Brisbane Grammar School’s Indoor Sports Centre.

The Jim Young Cup was presented to the Brisbane Grammar School Gymnastics team, who achieved a clean sweep of the three divisions to win their ninth straight GPS Gymnastics Championships. Brisbane Grammar School’s Head Gymnastics Coach, Jack Coates commented, “GPS is always a really enjoyable day and this one was no different. All the gymnasts involved across all schools put on a good show and it was pleasing to see the sportsmanship on display.”

Brisbane Boys’ College took second position, followed in third place by The Southport School, with St Joseph’s Gregory Terrace in fourth. Individual competitors from Brisbane State High School and St. Joseph’s Nudgee College also proudly represented their schools at the event, which has been part of the GPS inter-school sporting calendar since 1915 – three years before the GPS Association was officially founded!
