GPS Indigenous Round – Saturday 28 May 2022
The Great Public Schools’ (GPS) Association of Queensland will acknowledge National Reconciliation week with an Indigenous Round. During Round 6 (28 May), all GPS Flagship teams in Football and Tennis will be wearing Indigenous Socks designed by Brisbane Boys College Indigenous program students. The colours represent each of the 9 Member schools in the GPS Association.
National Reconciliation Week—27 May to 3 June—is a time for all Australians to learn about our shared histories, cultures, and achievements and to explore how each of us can contribute to achieving reconciliation in Australia.
The Great Public Schools Association of Queensland acknowledges and pays respect to the past, present and future Traditional Custodians and Elders of this nation and the continuation of cultural, spiritual and educational practices of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.
This year’s National Reconciliation Week theme, Be Brave Make Change, is a challenge to all of us to Be Brave and tackle the unfinished business of reconciliation so we can Make Change for the benefit of all Australians.
Change begins with brave actions in your daily life – where you live, work, play and socialise.
Take these actions with you every day of the year, not just during National Reconciliation Week.
Every good wish is extended to the nine (9) member schools for a safe and successful fixture.
