GPS Spirit of Fellowship Round
The Great Public Schools’ Association of Queensland Round 9 competition will see the Association and its member schools celebrate the “Spirit of Fellowship”, encouraging our community to think about Mental Health and the wellbeing of themselves as well as those around them.
“GPS Spirit of Fellowship” celebrates the courage, determination, commitment, teamwork and respect that has united the GPS Association’s nine member schools since its foundation in 1918.
The GPS Basketball and Rugby programs will wear custom-designed socks representing the colours of each of the member schools, with the Chess program adorning awareness ribbons in a central venue.
The Association encourages students to pursue excellence in sport and cultural activities underpinned by the values of commitment, courage, teamwork, healthy competition, integrity, fair play and good sportsmanship.
The GPS Association, along with its member schools, recognises the value of Sporting and Cultural Activities in supporting our young men’s mental health, by reducing feelings of loneliness and isolation and encouraging them to connect with people outside the classroom.
“GPS Spirit of Fellowship” round celebrates Mental Health with over 13,000 schoolboys from ages 10 to 18 at our Member Schools participating in sport and cultural activities and asking the question R U OK?
