Message to The Great Public Schools Association of Queensland (GPS)  members schools and communities.

With over 100 Years of GPS Sport and Activities history, 2020 has been a year, unlike any other.

Covid-19 has created a difficult situation for everyone across Australia, and members of our GPS Community, are mindful of the challenges faced by our counterparts in other parts of the country and the world.

The health and safety of our boys, staff, volunteers, parents and the entire GPS community is always our priority, but even moreso this year.  The Great Public Schools Association of Queensland, together with the nine (9) member schools, worked tirelessly to provide all students with the opportunity to participate safely in a sport or activity during Term 3, 2020.

The Great Public Schools Association of Queensland was the only independent school association, in Australia, fortunate enough to administer all sport and activities.  Term 3, witnessed Basketball, Chess, Cross Country, Football, Gymnastics, Rugby and Tennis operate concurrently, and almost 8000 students competed across all sports and activities weekly.

The Great Public Schools Association of Queensland wishes to thank the nine (9) member schools and their communities for following its COVIDSafe Plans, and for adhering to the ‘Arrive, Play, Go’ protocol and spectator restrictions.  We acknowledge that it has been disappointing for the boys, particularly the seniors, not to support their peers throughout term 3.

The Great Public Schools Association of Queensland would like to thank everyone involved in enabling competitions to proceed this term.  We acknowledge the increased hours staff have contributed in constructing competitions for boys to play for their schools.  We thank the boys and parents for assisting the Association to ensure our COVIDSafe Plans and the nine member schools are delighted that our boys enjoyed a different yet rewarding GPS experience.  It was fantastic to see the hard work of the GPS member schools resulting in such a successful execution of Term 3 Sport and Activities.

The GPS Association is pleased to announce the following Term 3 Premierships:
