About the Great Public Schools

The Great Public Schools’ Association of Queensland aims to provide outstanding opportunities for students from its nine member schools to take part in an extensive range of sporting and cultural activities.

The Association encourages students to pursue excellence in sport and cultural activities underpinned by the values of commitment, courage, teamwork, healthy competition, integrity, fair play and good sportsmanship.

Members agree to a code of conduct that promotes the development of a healthy, enjoyable and safe environment for all GPS sports and activities and all those involved agree to respect and uphold the Association’s values.

Thirteen GPS interschool sports and activities are included in the annual program: Basketball, Chess, Cricket, Cross Country, Debating, Football, Music, Rowing, Rugby Union, Swimming, Tennis, Track & Field, and Volleyball.

Policies & Guidelines

The GPS Association is committed to offering students an inclusive and fair environment for all of its sports, activities, competitions and events. By conducting competitions under the official playing rules, guidelines and regulations of the international, national and/ or state sporting organisation of each sport or activity, the GPS Association aims to ensure a close alignment with traditional and modern rules.
