# Congratulations BBC Premiers 4 consecutive years! **BBC Crowned GPS Tennis Premiership Champions After Dominant Season** Brisbane Boys’ College (BBC) has secured the 2026 GPS Tennis Premiership, finishing the season on top of a highly competitive ladder and reaffirming its standing as the benchmark in schoolboy tennis. BBC’s consistent excellence across all fixtures saw them finish with an impressive 16 premiership points, clear of a strong chasing pack led by Nudgee College (NC), who concluded the season with 14 points. Both programs demonstrated depth and resilience throughout the season, but it was BBC’s ability to deliver in key matchups that ultimately set them apart. The race for third was tightly contested, with Gregory Terrace (GT) and The Southport School (TSS) sharing equal footing on 11 points. Both teams showcased quality tennis and remained in contention deep into the season, underlining the competitive balance across the GPS competition. Brisbane Grammar School (BGS) finished fifth with 7 points, followed by Brisbane State High School (BSHS) on 6 points. Ipswich Grammar School (IGS) recorded 4 points, while Anglican Church Grammar School (ACGS) rounded out the ladder with 2 points. Final Ladder 1. Brisbane Boys’ College (BBC) – 16 2. BBC’s premiership campaign was built on balance and consistency, with strong performances across both singles and doubles rubbers proving decisive week after week. Nudgee College’s runner-up finish reflects another strong year for their tennis program, pushing BBC throughout the season and maintaining pressure at the top of the table. The shared third-place finish for GT and TSS highlights the evenly matched nature of the competition, with several rounds producing tightly contested results. Looking Ahead With emerging talent across multiple programs and increasing depth across the competition, the GPS Tennis competition continues to strengthen year on year. The 2026 season provides a strong foundation heading into 2027, with schools expected to build on the progress and intensity shown this year. The composition of 1st IV teams across the competition provides a strong indication of future competitiveness within the GPS Tennis landscape. Several programs fielded notably young teams in 2026. The Southport School (TSS) had just one Year 12 student in its regular 1st IV, while Brisbane State High School (BSHS) similarly featured only one Year 12, with the remainder of the team comprising Year 11, 10 and even Year 9 students. Brisbane Boys’ College (BBC), the 2026 premiers, were predominantly made up of Year 11 students, reinforcing the strength of their program heading into 2027. Brisbane Grammar School (BGS) and Ipswich Grammar School (IGS) both fielded balanced line-ups, blending senior players with emerging Year 10 talent, while Gregory Terrace (GT) also demonstrated a mix of year levels across its team. In contrast, Nudgee College (NC) and Toowoomba Grammar School (TGS) relied on an experienced group, with a majority of Year 12 students. Anglican Church Grammar School (ACGS), is expected to grow as younger players progress through their program. Overall, the spread of youth across several leading teams suggests strong continuity and a highly competitive 2027 season ahead, with multiple programs well-positioned to challenge for premiership honours.
