2026 Football Premiers

# Congratulations BBC and NC Shared Premiership - 2026 2026 GPS Football Premiership Decided in Remarkably Tight Season The 2026 GPS Football season will be remembered as one of the most competitive and evenly contested in recent years, culminating in a shared premiership between Nudgee College (NC) and Brisbane Boys’ College (BBC). With no team able to navigate the nine-round season undefeated, the premiership race remained wide open from start to finish. NC and BBC both finished on 19 competition points, ahead of Gregory Terrace (15), The Southport School (12), Anglican Church Grammar School (11), Brisbane Grammar School (10), Brisbane State High School (9), Ipswich Grammar School (6), and Toowoomba Grammar School (1). The pathway to the premiership reflected the balance across the competition: • BBC’s campaign included a key loss to Gregory Terrace and a hard-fought draw with TSS • NC suffered a loss to BBC and were held to a draw by ACGS These results ensured no clear frontrunner emerged, with multiple schools remaining in contention deep into the season. A Premiership Race to the Final Whistle The competition ultimately came down to the final round, with BBC holding their destiny in their own hands. A victory would secure at least a share of the premiership, while a draw or loss would have handed the title outright to NC. In a fitting end to a tightly contested season, BBC secured the win required, confirming a shared premiership with NC — an outcome that reflects the consistency and resilience shown by both programs across the year. Depth of Talent on Display Across the nine weeks of competition, 92 goals were scored, highlighting both the attacking quality and the overall standard of football across the GPS schools. Week-to-week results were consistently close, reinforcing the depth of talent and competitiveness of the competition. A Season Defined by Parity More than any single result, the 2026 season underscored a key theme: any team, on any given weekend, had the capacity to influence the premiership outcome. This level of parity not only delivered an engaging season for players and spectators alike but also speaks to the strength and development of football programs across the GPS Association. ________________________________________ Final Ladder: 1.
